Nuno Coelho makes his UK debut with the BBC Philharmonic
/30 November 2018
Nuno Coelho makes his UK debut with the BBC Philharmonic today, in a performance of Benjamin’s Elegy, Waltz and Toccata (with violist Elvin Ringstad) and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 in D minor, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
The collaboration with the BBC Philharmonic is a result of Nuno’s win at the 2017 Cadaqués International Conducting Competition, which also includes dates with the Ulster Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lille, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (where he will also perform Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7).
Nuno’s next performances are with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, where he is Guest Conductor, and the LA Philharmonic, where he will conduct music by John Adams and Philip Glass.
A broadcast of the concert is available here on iPlayer. Alternatively, you can watch a clip of Nuno conduct Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 at the Concertgebouw, with the Netherlands Philharmonic, below.
